Fireboy DML and Rema Choose Collaboration Over Conflict

Nigerian musician Fireboy DML reveals that he and fellow artist Rema opted for collaboration rather than engaging in anticipated conflicts.

Explaining their decision, Fireboy emphasized their forward-thinking approach, stating, “Rema and I are at the forefront of the [Afrobeats] genre.” Instead of succumbing to fan expectations of rivalry, we chose to unite our talents. Our focus is on creating quality music, devoid of unnecessary drama.

In an interview with Apple Music’s Ebro, Fireboy highlighted their commitment to crafting authentic music, stating, “We didn’t aim for instant hits; we aimed for substance.” Their collaboration extends beyond one track, with five more joint projects in the works.

Initially subject to scrutiny on social media due to their rising prominence, any perceived rivalry between Fireboy and Rema dissolved following their collaborative efforts. Their joint track “Compromise,” featured on Fireboy’s third studio album, “Playboy,” served as a testament to their harmonious relationship and artistic synergy.
