Drum Pope Aims to Break Guinness World Record for Most Songs Produced in a Year
Pretoria-born producer France Lebepe, aka Drum Pope, is attempting to break the Guinness World Record for most digital single releases by a music act in a year. To achieve this, he needs to release approximately 1,000 songs within a year.
Drum Pope has already started working on the project and has called on artists, musicians, producers, and graphic designers to collaborate with him. He has received support from fellow musicians like Theo Kgosinkwe and Dj Sbu, and has access to a writing team that provides vocals.
However, financing the project is a significant challenge. Drum Pope highlighted the daily costs of studio time, engineering, travel, food, and other expenses. Fortunately, partnerships with AMPD Studios and MTN will help alleviate some of the financial burdens.
Drum Pope is determined to succeed and believes that breaking the record will cement his name globally in the book of legends. He aims to release an additional 100 songs beyond the required 1,000.”
